On my FB page, I posted that no one would ever guess what I was getting for Christmas, and I was right. This year I truly understood little Ralphie in “A Christmas Story” as he spoke lovingly of the red Rider B B gun. “…in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty.” This was the year I fell in love with weapons.
I’m not going to tell you my inspiration because, well, you’ll think I’m nuts. Suffice it to say, I’ve always wanted to learn to wield a weapon of some sort. Ninja stars, pistol, medieval sword…you know, the usual. So I asked for something special this year and Santa was good to me. Take a peek at my steel beauties below. Hibben throwing knives. Aren’t they gorgeous?

I also got some smaller ones, black and easily hidden beneath clothing or tucked into a garter. Sexy little numbers. When I took them home to show my family, they were all a little shocked at first, but only a little, because they have known me all my life. I told my nephew that my sweetie and I had almost gotten crossbows, but decided we should build up to weapons of that size. My nephew laughed and said, “You guys are like Mr. and Mrs. Smith!” I took it as a compliment. : )
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, and may your New Year be happy and prosperous. As for me, I have a new method of stress relief. Don’t mind that silver thing whizzing past your ear. It’s just one of my new toys gone astray.
